Step 1: Make sauce

In small saucepan, whisk together:
1 cup white sugar
3/4 cup milk (I use 2%). You can use milk, cream, creamo, evaporated milk...
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
pinch of salt
Bring to boil over medium heat; stir, and boil gently for 8-10 min. until thickened and smooth.
Remove from heat and whisk in 1/2 cup (or so) of semi-sweet chocolate chips (or chunks of Toblerone),
and one tsp. vanilla.
Allow to cool. It refrigerates and reheats well. If it is too thick after warming up, stir in a little milk or liqueur to thin. It should be served warm with fruit to dip, or makes a great hot fudge sauce over ice cream.
Step 2: Cut up lots of chocolate conveyance devices (fruit)

Step 3: Put it all together, give everyone their own fork, and watch out!

Mmmmm.... sounds yummy! Can I come over to your house??
One of my favorite cocoa powders is Sharffenberger, we have a little store at the Ferry Building in San Francisco. Love making hot cocoa with it. Yummy chocolates too.
Gonna have to try that choc sauce. I kind of think that it was one I used to make as a kid. Probably just ate it off a spoon too!! my choc fondues are all too decadently high fat for anything other than a special occasion - this sounds great
It's not too decadently high fat, and it tastes great!
yum! looks like a good time was had by all!
What a great idea, I didn't know fondue could be that easy! Today is my DS#2's birthday and this will be the perfect surprise for him...thanks, Jayne, glad I stopped by!
