Button Button

As in...Cute as a...

How cute are those? I found them at Michaels yesterday. Big beautiful buttons. I put a quarter there to give a sense of scale. Darling daughter has already earmarked her favorites for future projects I am to knit for her. (This one here, would be perfect for a pink shrug, mom).

If that isn't enough cute for you, how about my tiny toolbox? It's a Player's Light cigarette tin (oh scandalous!) I found at the thrift shop. Just the right size for the essentials (I am a minimalist) with room for a few more.

What I wish the weather was like today...

It's not. We are in full November monsoon today. It's cold and windy, and rain pours off the gutters as though a hose was left on. When I look out the window from my desk (mmmm), I can see a river of rain running down the street. I can also see the mailbox. Handy. But no yarn today. No yarn for the last two weeks. No yarn until I've worked my way through some of the wonderful yarns I already have here, begging for attention.

Well...maybe just a little yarn.

Big bold beautiful button love! Thanks Jayne...just what i need...another trip across town to Michael's. But..those are soooo cute and match lots of yarny goodness that needs knitting up. Your minimalism cracks me up. I too have a little matches tin that I keep a few essentials in..but it's inside another makeup bag size notions container, inside one of my big knitting bag..that has ziplocks with 2..or maybe 3 projects...at least my intentions were good. hah!

Oh Jayne.....Beat you to it.... I bought those buttons 3 weeks ago. My only complaint is they are soooo very expensive. I believe it was $8.98 for one card. I just bought them because I liked them, not because I'll ever use them.

That's funny, Evelyn, 'cuz I thought the same thing. They were 8.00 a card, but then I considered that for one special button to sew onto a purse or hat or shrug, maybe it was worth it...

What I think is funny, is that you thought they were too expensive, but you still had to have them. hee hee!

Are you sure thats a quarter you put there? Sure looks like a copper penny to me. I'll definitely look for the buttons next time I'm at Michaels! pretty!

Lucky you get a window while you work at your desk. It is a monsoon kind of day alright, it knocked down power at the house. I left just so I could get warm in the car. Makes me feel for the homeless and how fortunate we are.

I missed the knit night this week!

I am waiting with bated breath for the newly constructed Michael's to open up in my town, any day now. The signs are up, lots of activity inside but not ready for customers. I drive by every day or so to check.

Hi Suzie -- we missed you too! There were still four of us there to stitch 'n bitch.

I can picture you driving by every day or so, Joan. There'll be happy dancing at your place when Michael's opens (and they have great Hallowe'en stuff every year too) :)

Here is a Yarn Lounge handy tip. Put a flat magnet on the top of your tin and hold the needles there. Easy to find and more room in the main part of the tin. :-)
